​Band Camps 2019

Band Camps are one of the most memorable activities for any high school band student.  Located below is our 2019 Band Camp information.  We will have a series of camps before school starts to get ready for the coming season.  Band Camp attendance is critical to the success of the Marching Bears.  Any student participating in marching band is required to attend.  Camp activities include: Learning marching and playing basics, learning field show music, learning field show drill and choreography, meeting new friends and having tons of fun!
All students planning to do marching band must complete the registration process with a parent.

JULY 10TH & 12TH
​6:30pm-9:00pm
(Head Start Camp is for any student planning to join the Marching Bears)

What to Bring:
  • Wear comfortable athletic clothing and athletic footwear for outside activities.
  • Instruments
    • Flutes, Clarinets, Saxophones, Trumpets, and Trombones should plan to bring their instruments.
    • All other students will transfer to marching instruments that are provided by Cherokee Bluff.
  • Bring a water bottle and make sure you eat a snack before arrival.

PRE-BAND CAMP
JULY 16th - 20th
​9:00am-5:00pm
Pre-Camp Daily Schedule:
8:30am-8:55am:     Student arrival and set-up band room.
9:00am-Noon:        Outside Practice

What to Bring:

  • Instruments

  • All Students will be provided both breakfast and lunch during Pre-Camp.
PRE-CAMP ACTIVITIES
There could be one or two Pre-Camp Activities after rehearsal on July 17th & July 19th from 5:00-7:30pm.  These activities may include swimming or some other group activity.  These are TBA.

FULL BAND CAMP

JULY 23-27
​9:00AM-9:00PM

Band Camp Daily Schedule:

5:00pm - 6:00pm         Dinner.  Provided by CBBA - If you cannot eat, or do not like the food provided, you will need to                                          make arrangements to bring dinner or have it brought to you.  No one will be allowed to leave                                            campus for dinner.  Click here to see the Band Camp Menu
6:00pm-9:00pm           Outside Practice

Students will get breaks throughout the day and chaperones will provide water during those breaks.
What to Bring:
  • Wear comfortable athletic clothing and athletic footwear for outside activities.
  • Keep in mind we will be outside for long stretches of time, remember sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc...
  • Instruments
    • Flutes, Clarinets, Saxophones, Trumpets, and Trombones should plan to bring their instruments.
    • All other students will transfer to marching instruments that are provided by Cherokee Bluff.
  • Bring a water bottle and make sure you eat breakfast.  There will be fruit snacks during breaks but a good breakfast is vital.
  • All Students should will be provided both breakfast and lunch during Band Camp.
  • All Students will be served dinner by the CBBA each day between 4:30-6:00pm
2018 DRESS UP/THEME DAYS
Each band camp day will feature a theme.   These are fun themes and will give the students an opportunity to dress up, play games and have a ton of fun!  All attire should be appropriate and not interfere with your ability to march, play or move during camp.
(THEMES ARE DECIDED BY THE BAND STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM)
Monday: Movie Day
It's celebrate your favorite movie day.  Get into character, dress up and sport your favorite movie attire.  There will be a contest for the best outfit during dinner.  ​Make sure your movie is appropriate!
Tuesday: Decades Day
​Throw back to your favorite decade for decades day.  Find your best vintage clothing and sport the style of your decade.  There will be a contest for the best decade outfit during dinner.
Wednesday: Twin Day
Pair up with another member of the band and dress alike.  Feel free to wear whacky outfits and be twins for a day.  There will be a contest for the best set of twins during dinner.
Thursday: Mathlete vs. Athlete
Are you a nerd or jock?  Prove it with your best nerd attire or sport outfit.  Dress up like a super nerd or member of a baseball team.  You decide.  There will be a contest for the best nerd and athlete during dinner.
Friday: Class Color Day
​All students are asked to sport the color of their class.  Find a t-shirt that matches the class colors.  There will be class photos taken during camp.
The 2018 colors are:

​Freshmen - Yellow

Sophomore - Green

Juniors - Red

Seniors - Light Pink


POST BAND CAMP
JULY 30, JULY 31, AUGUST 2
5:00-8:00PM

Post Band Camp is our opportunity to take a breath, digest band camp and have a few more rehearsals before school begins.  Once the school year starts we will be on our weekly rehearsal schedule.  The post camp rehearsals are in the evening which gives the students time to rest during the day.

What to Bring:
  • Wear comfortable athletic clothing and athletic footwear for outside activities. 
  • Keep in mind we will be outside for long stretches of time, remember sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc...
  • Marching Band Instrument/Equipment
  • Bring a water bottle and snack if needed.
