STUDENT ACCOUNT PROCEDURES
The Student Account is an account, which holds funds that may be used to pay for band related activities. Student Account funds are not redeemable as cash, and may bot be transferred between two student’s accounts with the exception of siblings. Deposits are made to the Student Account by either of two methods. Most commonly, funds are earned by participation in student account fundraisers. After a fundraiser is complete and the fundraiser accounting has been submitted to the Treasurer, the earned amount will be added to each student’s account. If desired a student or parent may submit a cash payment or check to the treasurer with a written request to deposit the funds into the student’s account.
If a student owes money to the Cherokee Bluff Band for a prior commitment, and a deposit is made to the account, the treasurer may debit the student’s account to offset the debt. The student will be notified in writing if this occurs.
In order to use the funds in an individual account, a “Cherokee Bluff Band Student Account Check” must be completed and signed by the student, or the student’s parent. Student Account payments will not be accepted without this authorization. A sample of the student account check is included below for your information and use. You may copy this check, or obtain copies from www.cherokeebluffband.com. It is each student’s responsibility to ensure that adequate funds are available in his/her account, before submitting a student account check as payment for a band activity. If for some reason a student’s account becomes overdrawn, the student will receive a written request to submit a payment to offset the negative balance.
If a student leaves the Band Program for any reason, the student’s account will be immediately frozen, and will remain frozen until the student re-enters the Band Program, or graduates. Funds in a frozen account are unavailable for use. When a student graduates from Cherokee Bluff High School, any funds remaining in an active or frozen student account will be transferred to the CBBA general fund, with the following exception: If the student has a sibling currently active in the band program, or a sibling enrolled in the Band Program for the upcoming fall semester, the funds will be transferred to an account in the sibling’s name.
Student Accounts cannot be used to pay for other band fundraisers. Questions about student account procedures or student account balances should be directed to the treasurer.
