BAND PLACEMENT AUDITIONS FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR

Current Students - Grades 8-11:
​You must have your audition/final exam uploaded to Canvas by Friday, May 13, 2022 (11:59pm)

Performance Requirements:

1. Major and/or Minor Scales - with metronome, as many as possible in 2 minutes (do not exceed 2 minutes).
2. Chromatic Scale - untimed.  Full range of the instrument (or more).
3. Metronome Etude - with a metronome set to 90 BPM, full rhythmic accuracy and dynamics (play just the rhythm on a Concert F).
4. Etude (see "etudes" below) - Students wishing to be in Concert Band will play the first half of the etude (Play to the Fermata).  Students wishing to be in Symphonic Band must play the entire etude.  There is a recording of the etude to help you.
5. PERCUSSION: Percussionists should only submit the snare etude.  Mallet submissions are not required (as most of you do not have mallet instruments at home).
