It is officially SHOW WEEK! 🎉
We are so excited to finally debut our show for the season. This week is extremely important, and there is a lot of information included below, so please be sure to read this entire newsletter with your student.

Rehearsal Schedule – Important Updates
We are officially back in the gym this week. Due to the importance of show week, we will be starting 30 minutes early on Tuesday to allow extra rehearsal time to make any final adjustments before our debut performance.

We always make it a priority to not overly stress the students during the last rehearsal before a show. However, due to recent snow days, we are slightly behind schedule. This additional rehearsal time will be very beneficial in helping the students feel confident and prepared.

Rehearsal Schedule for This Week:
- Tuesday, February 10th: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM (30 minutes earlier than normal)
- Thursday: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM (normal rehearsal time)
Please Note:
We will do our very best to have students dismissed on time. However, there may be occasions where rehearsal runs slightly long due to necessary preparations to properly compete and ensure everything is ready for our debut competition on Saturday. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Chaperone Help Needed!
We currently have approximately 3 chaperone tickets available for this weekend’s competition. If you are interested in lending a hand and helping support our students, please let me know as soon as possible. We truly appreciate any and all help!

Spectator Tickets
Due to a delay in the ticket link being posted, we will be sending the ticket link directly to students as soon as it becomes available. Please keep an eye out for that information.

Early Checkout Policy
If a student wishes to leave early and ride home with a parent (not a friend), the following steps must be followed:
- Written documentation is required (note or email) and must include a cell phone number.
- At the conclusion of the event, the parent must meet either Nelly or Sierra in person to officially check the student out.
Please note that we are following the same checkout procedures used during marching band season.

Concessions & Lunch
Since we will be at the competition site during lunchtime, students will need to bring money for lunch, as well as any additional funds if they would like to purchase items from the concessions or merchandise booths.

Please plan accordingly:
- Students should bring cash and/or a card
- We have not been informed what forms of payment Villa Rica High School will accept

Uniform, Packing List, Hair & Makeup Information
We will be sending out a detailed message directly to students with a full packing list and what they will be wearing on competition day.
Please note that we are still waiting on a few costume pieces, but we will keep students updated as soon as those items arrive.

Required Hair & Makeup Essentials
This is a reminder that all required hair and makeup items must be turned in or ready no later than Wednesday, February 11th.
If there are any concerns about obtaining these items, please do not hesitate to reach out — we are more than happy to help.

- Students’ hair will be styled in a ballerina bun (sock bun).
- If your student’s hair does not hold well, please plan accordingly to ensure it stays secure throughout the performance.
- Below is a link to highly recommended makeup and hair items for students. These items are commonly used as performance makeup and will help achieve a consistent look across the team.

Digital Calendar Fundraiser
We are excited to announce our Digital Calendar Fundraiser! This is a fun and flexible way for students to raise funds for their individual accounts while supporting our Winter Guard program.

How It Works:
- We have designed a digital calendar for students to share with family and friends.
- Both parents and students are encouraged to help spread the word.
- Donors choose a day on the calendar, and the donation amount matches the day’s number.
- For example, choosing the 5th would be a $5 donation, the 20th would be a $20 donation, and so on.

Allocation of Funds:
- A small portion of each student’s proceeds will be set aside to cover their portion of the banquet dinner in Chattanooga (this amount will not exceed $35 per student).
- if the student does not raise the necessary funds for their portion of the banquet dinner, students will still be required to make a payment of the amount needed
- The remaining funds will be deposited directly into each student’s account and used to help cover season dues.

We are currently finalizing the number of banquet attendees, which will allow us to confirm the exact dinner cost per student. Any funds raised beyond the dinner allocation will remain in the student’s account.

Fundraiser Deadline
All donations must be submitted by:
Thursday, February 26th (the last Thursday of the month)

Accepted Payment Methods
Payments must be made using one of the following methods:
- Cash: Please hold onto all cash until the final collection day.
  - Cash must be placed in an envelope labeled with:
    - Student’s name
    - What the money is for (Winter Guard Calendar Fundraiser)
    - Total amount inside the envelope

  - checks must be placed in an envelope labeled with:
