David Campbell (Percussion)

David Campbell began his teaching career as Band Director at his alma mater, Pike Liberal Arts School, in Troy Alabama. He later moved to Georgia where he taught for twenty nine years in Georgia public schools before retiring from full-time teaching in June 2014. The vast majority of Mr. Campbell’s career was teaching middle school band; however, he also taught elementary music, high school band and college percussion studies. His principal instrument is percussion, and he enjoys performing whenever possible. Mr. Campbell is a veteran of the Alabama Army National Guard where he served for eight years in the 151st Army Band.
David Campbell holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Troy State University, a Master of Music from University of South Florida and an Education Specialist from Piedmont College. His professional affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi, Kappa Delta Pi, National Association for Music Education, Georgia Music Educators Association, Georgia Association of Educators and Percussive Arts Society.
Mr. Campbell lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia with his wife, Joanne, and his two daughters, Kathryn and Emily. He is a member Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church. Mr. Campbell is a commercially-rated pilot and works part-time as an Operations Coordinator for ImagineAir.
